Kinja'd!!!

Two fresh Recaros for some super safe daily commute action.

First week of the wife back to work and the kids in school meant swapping seats from car-to-car every day. That got old real quick so we picked up two new seats for the M5. And they convert to boosters! This is now my life. Getting excited about car seats.

Don't forget the casual dinner time conversations regarding poop diapers. Those are always a nice bonding moment.

I wish! Though they did finally come out with a Junior HANS.

Nice, I have 3 Recaros in my FoST, the last being a Pro Ride for the baby.

That moment when you realize your kids' seats are cooler than yours.

We have the ProRides in my wife's car. My only complaint is how much of a PITA they are to pull the shells off and clean. Took me at least 20 minutes to get them back together. Not sure these are going to be any better.

I haven't tried that, good to know it's a pain.

My FoST has a narrow entry into the back cabin so they aren't easy to get a 27 lb 10 month old into either. The high bolsters on the side is what makes them safe though, so I've lived with it. I found a slight recline helped too.

Even in my Tahoe I have to fold the kids a bit to get them in without banging their heads.

My first is due in July. One of these is first on my list of purchases.

Even though you can get an infant insert for the ProRide model, I wouldn't recommend it. You want something with a removable base and something that leans them back more (like the Coupe). The removable base is key for moving the kid if they fall asleep in the car (all the time) and swapping from car to car (extra bases are much cheaper than a second seat). We had a Graco (it still had some sweet racing stripes) that fit with a bunch of different strollers and our swing. Then when they got bigger we moved up to the ProRide. The ones above are the Sport, which convert to a booster seat, but they're forward-facing only (they'll be rear-facing until at least 2 years).

Kids are expensive.

Thanks for this. I'm going to have a ton of questions for the OPPO parents. Little one isn't even here yet and the money is flying out the door.
